Explore our Torquay centre

At our Torquay centre, we provide high-quality early education and care in a nurturing and welcoming environment.

We’re located next door to Torquay Coast Primary School, close to Geelong Road and the Dunes Village shopping centre.

Our centre has dedicated spaces for science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) as well as music and language programs. We have large outdoor spaces and a vegetable garden for children to explore and learn about sustainability.

As a community-focused, not-for-profit centre, we love getting to know all our families and pride ourselves on the relationships we develop. We know that by working together, we can help your child thrive.

Meet our Centre Manager

Elicia Thomas

I entered this industry when my son was a baby, inspired to support his learning. This grew into my passion for supporting the learning of all young people. Every child deserves the highest quality of care, and we should always support their imagination and sense of exploration.

I'm passionate about creating an environment that supports children and their families, as well as our educators and teachers. That's why we create a community that supports the value and importance of early years education.

We are proud to support our local community in Torquay and surrounds, and are passionate in creating an environment reflective of our community's needs.

Now a mother of two small children, I understand how hard it is to juggle your career, life and children. We're here to support you with that juggle, so you can feel reassured that your child is in safe hands.

Meet our Educational Leader

Alli-Jayne Sanders

I have worked in the Early Childhood sector for almost ten years, starting as a trainee, moving into a Room Leader role and then into the Educational Leader role. During this period, I have also had two children, which has further strengthened my passion for working with children.

In my role as an Educational Leader/Assistant Manager I strive to support my team through inspiring best practices, encouraging self-reflection and empowering educators to grow their own skills.

I am passionate about creating warm and welcoming environments, and nurturing children's learning by providing home-like spaces for play. I look forward to continuing to grow in my career and eventually move into the role of Centre Manager one day.

CCS helps eligible families access approved and registered child care providers by partially subsidising the cost of daily fees.

What our families say about us

Moving my son to Torquay YMCA ELC is one of the best decisions I have made to support his development. The educators in the Jan Juc room genuinely care about the children, fostering a warm and nurturing space for learning and growth.Anna

There is a wonderful family feel to the center. The educators show amazing attention and interest in the children and this shows with the kind and supportive interactions between them and between each child. My son loves to tell me about his day and all the activities he participates in.Ali

At the YMCA Early Learning Centre, the children are well looked after, and families, staff and the children are all appreciated and respected.Jhaydun
